Raquel was born 1992 in Freamunde, began her musical studies at the age of 16 at the Conservatory of Vale do Sousa in Lousada and started singing in chamber choirs during her time at the conservatory. Two of these choirs, Coro Feminino do CVS and Ensemble Vocal de Freamunde have been performing in several festivals in Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Denmark and Portugal. Since 2010 she has been a member of the Freamunde International Choir Competition. In 2015 she studied at the prestigious Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy of Music, in Kecskemét, Hungary, under the Erasmus programme. In 2017 she completed the bachelor degree at Music School of Lisbon (ESML) in Choral Conducting and Music Education.
As a choral singer she is a member of Ricercare choir and Laudi Per Voce Ensemble. She also worked with Coro Sacro de Lisboa, Ensemble Vocal Desafinados, Ensemble MPMP, Ensemble Lusivoce. She had opportunity to work with many different conducters (Sílvio Cortez, Paulo Lourenço, Vasco Azevedo, Pedro Teixeira, Arpád Tóth, László Norbert Nemes). Raquel is currently attending the Music Teaching masters at ESML. She is also teaching choir and music education at Escola de Música Luís António Maldonado Rodrigues, in Torres Vedras, and at Escola de Música do Colégio Moderno, in Lisbon.
