Markéta Chumová is a mezzo-soprano originally from the Czech Republic. Her life has always been dedicated to music as she studied classical singing and violin performance since she was five years old at Antonín Dvorák’s Music school in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. She was vocally guided by Dagmar Hubicková and attended competitions and festivals of solo singing as well as chamber music. In 2007, she participated as a solo singer in Karlovy Vary city council project and sang in several concerts in Varberg, Sweden.
In 2011, Markéta started to study Music and Performance at Charles University, Faculty of Education in Prague. During her university studies, she was vocally and musically guided by professor Alena Tichá and attended private lessons with professor Dana Buresová, soloist of the National theatre in Prague. She became a member of Prague ensembles Vox Florum and Les Chóristu.
As a student of Charles University, she got an opportunity to study music abroad, in Dublin at University College Dublin (2013) and in Lisbon at Escola Superior de Educação and Escola Superior de Música (2016).
Recently, Markéta has been a member of several choirs and ensembles in Lisbon, such as Coro da Câmara de ESML, Coro Académico Português or Ímpeto Ensemble. Simultaneously, she has been finishing Master degree in Prague.
