Nova Era presents its fifth edition of Lisbon Choral Conducting Masterclass from the 29th August to the 1st September 2024 for conductors, music teachers, students and choral enthusiasts.

Nova Era presents its fourth edition of Lisbon Choral Conducting Masterclass from the 29th August to the 1st September 2024 for conductors, music teachers, students and choral enthusiasts. This choral conducting masterclass gives you a unique opportunity to gain expertise with Marcos Cerejo, the conductor of Nova Era Schola, Inês Lopes, the assistant conductor of Gulbenkian Choir and Daniel Reuss, one of the most prestigious conductors of our times. The courses are designed to meet the needs and abilities of each individual - from beginners to experienced conductors. The classes will focus on the conducting technique, rehearsal technique, vocal technique and interpretation.
The masterclass offers an exceptional opportunity of working with a group of advanced singers and professional musicians of Nova Era Vocal Ensemble and the singers of Nova Era Schola and Coro iscte. We would also like to extend the invitation to those who simply wish to observe.
The masterclass will take place at Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon, situated in the centre of Lisbon. The particular classes will provide intensive instruction in choral conducting given by inspirational teachers.
Each student will have the opportunity to participate in the final concert which will be closing the weekend masterclass.

DANIEL REUSS
ADVANCED LEVEL
Director of Cappella Amsterdam;
Studied with Barend Schuurman at the Rotterdam Conservatory;
From 2008 till 2013 he was the artistic director/chief conductor of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir;
From 2003 until 2006 he was the chief conductor of the RIAS Kammerchor in Berlin.
The CDs recorded with RIAS received various awards, including the Preis der Deutsche Schallplattenkritik, the Echo Award, the Diapason d'Or and Choc du Monde de la Musique.
Daniel Reuss has been invited to conduct chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout Europe. Among these may be mentioned the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, MusikFabrik, Scharoun Ensemble and the Radio Chamber Philharmonic.
From 2015 Daniel Reuss is chief conductor of Ensemble Vocal Lausanne.
MAsterclass fees
For Beginner and Intermediate levels, registration will only be confirmed after the payment.
For Advanced level, the participants must wait for the results of the candidates’ selection. The registration will then be confirmed after the payment.

Only full payment secures your place
In case of cancellation until July 1st, 80% of the amount paid will be refunded; in case of cancellation after the 1st of July, there will be no refund
