The ensemble was created in 2018 by the chief conductor João Barros. NEVE has recently perform with conductors such as Daniel Reuss, Krista Audere, Kaspars Putnins, Yuval Weinberg and many other internationally renown conductors. Recently the ensemble collaborated with Divino Sospiro, Americantiga Ensemble and Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. Since its establishment, the choir premiered more than 50 works by both portuguese and international composers. Last season performed Bach’s Motetets and Cantatas, Rachmaninoff Vespers, SILENCIO by Moritz Van Oswald, Lully’s Te Deum and the european premiere of Caroline Shaw’s Ochre. Nova Era is the organizer of Lisbon Choral Conducting Masterclass. Since its first edition, the ensemble worked with Sigvards Klava, Josep Vila, Bernie Sherlock, Mark Korovitch and Justin Doyle.
